Wastewater sampling and
flow profiling
Working with local authorities and utilities, we define ideal sampling locations around wastewater
collection networks.
Our automated sampling units take regular samples throughout the day, while simultaneously recording wastewater flow data- essential for calculating Normalized Viral Loads (NVL) and outbreak intensity.
Laboratory analysis
Samples are collected from the field and analyzed by our partners at local reasearch facilities.
PCR testing can identify virus RNA in wastewater up to 72 hours before conventional testing and, when combined with wastewater flow and demographic data, can be used to estimate the number of cases in a location.
Hotspot tracing
Kando has been tracing contamination through wastewater for more than a decade.
Knowing the geolocation of every unit and the NVL at each location, we can track an outbreak upstream and pinpoint its source.
